According to the National Bureau of Statistics, more than 80% of the households in rural Nigeria uses firewood fuel for cooking. This means that much demand is placed on the little forest reserve that Nigeria has which is fast disappearing, (less than 7.7% forest cover). Way below the 10% global recommended levels.

On the other hand, Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that over 98,000 Nigerian women die annually from smokes inhaled while cooking with firewood which is now the 3rd highest killer after Malaria and HIV.

Our Mothers Must Not Continue to Sacrifice Their Lives while trying to cook the Food we are going to eat. NO WAY!

OUR SOLUTION

SMOKELESS BRIQS ENERGY Solutions has developed clean energy technologies to save our mothers from carbon poisoning and respiratory health challenges. We are working on producing Eco-friendly SMOKELESS Briquettes from post agricultural wastes. It does not spark or emit carbon and conserves the environment. Our Ecofriendly Smokeless Stoves will have Stainless steel-built burn chamber which reaches 300 degrees in less than 10 minutes and enable twice faster cooking than any traditional stove. The heat will produce around 30 watts of continuous excess power which will be stored in the Lithium ion battery equipped with the stove so that users can charge devices such as mobile phones via USB in real time whenever they need it even when the fire is off.

It burns clean without smokes which makes it eco-friendly. It does not spark, nor smell. It lasts longer than normal charcoal and it’s more affordable than cooking gas, charcoal, kerosene or wood fuel.

This project will go a long way to reduce carbon emissions, minimize deforestation, enhance sanitation through integrated waste management, and create green jobs for the youths and the women.
We want to actualize development of sustainable waste-to-energy technologies that improve economic competitiveness, increase rural energy access and energy security, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve livelihoods in Africa.
The project will reduce the health and safety issues caused by household air pollution and decrease the time women spend collecting firewood fuel. Women can then reallocate this time to educational, income-generating, and leisure activities.
